Description du poste

The company, currently 12 people strong, is looking to consolidate its R&D team that has a rare electrical engineering + software development dual skill set.
Reporting to the CSO & CTO, you will be part of this 5-man team. Your missions will be:

  • Perform advanced R&D on design algorithms for power converters in a fast-changing environment (time scale for most of our work is a few weeks)
  • Work mostly autonomously or in tandem, report your findings to your peers and give them feedback on theirs
  • Implement, test and document object-oriented scientific code in accordance with the development team's best practices
  • Review code from other R&D engineers
  • Investigate complex issues, write and validate bug fixes for them in a timely manner
  • Be an integral part of our Scrum team, contributing to its continuous improvement
  • Help the Product Owner in refining the definition of new technical product features
  • Contribute to the production of technical and/or general marketing documents
  • Back our Field Application Engineers in their customer support, training and engineering studies tasks

Description du profil


  • Master's/PhD in Electrical Engineering with previous software development experience
    Master's in Software Engineering or similar with previous experience in a relevant physics / engineering field
  • Familiarity with DC & AC electrical circuits and the basics of power conversion
  • Understanding of signal processing fundamentals (filtering, FFT, ...)
  • Experience with 2D/3D FEM and/or circuit simulation software (SPICE, PSIM, Plecs, ...)
  • At ease with typical development tasks in both Windows and Linux environments, using Git and IDEs
  • Experience with multiple programming / scripting languages
  • Knowledge of common data structures and algorithms, notion of computational complexity
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and typical design patterns
  • Ability to develop high-quality software as part of a team, not just "write code that works"
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures... then question and improve them
  • Initiative-taking
  • Well-organized with multi-tasking abilities
  • Good listener with articulate expression
  • English speaker

Very much welcome, but not a hard requirement

  • Hands-on experience designing, building and testing power converters
  • Expertise in at least a subdomain of electrical engineering relevant to our product:
    • power semiconductors
    • thermal management
    • power magnetics
    • power converter control
    • electrical machines
  • Experience with scientific Python (numpy, scipy, pandas, xarray, bokeh, ...)
  • General understanding of modern web applications architectures and technologies
  • French speaker
