Current treatments for OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) are limited, with CPAP being the main, and somewhat unsatisfactory treatment option. This venture is based on research, conducted in France, Rennes, into the use of kinesthetic stimulation as a potentially effective therapy for this widespread and debilitating condition.

The device is an unobtrusive and non-invasive wearable wire that monitors for sleep apnea in real time and then breaks the cycle through gentle tactile feedback, without waking the patient.

This game changing, yet simple device, could have a huge impact on a market estimated to be worth USD 30 billion globally.

Our client is a fast-growing European HealthTech Venture Builder that has developed a uniquely successful model to bring innovations to market. It starts with a rigorous project selection process to assess clinical impact and commercial viability. Once identified, the project is paired with a CEO at the point of incorporation. As CEO/Co-Founder you will drive the project to hit milestones with a strategic exit in mind.

They seek a CEO to co-found this revolutionary TRL 3-4 project.

To be eligible you must have commercial experience in sleep apnea medical devices

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Fundraising: to drive manufacturing, clinical trials & commercialisation
  • Clinical Trials: in human
  • Regulatory Development: for a Class I/II medical device
  • Network: Bring a network of KOL’s and early-adopters in appropriate markets
  • Commercialisation: Drive the go-to-market strategy for the project

You must have experience/competence in the following areas:

  • Entrepreneurship: seizes opportunities to drive value, competitive advantage, & profit
  • Decisiveness: strong sense of urgency in action and decision making
  • Action-oriented: sets challenging goals with a clear path to achieving them
  • Network: bring relevant contacts, build new networks and leverage others' expertise
  • Subject Expertise: market knowledge of medical device & sleep apnea

Your work experience ideally includes success in:

  • Manufacturing: selection & commissioning of facilities for medical devices
  • Strategic Leadership: R&D or product innovation, ideally in a startup setting
  • People Leadership: company, business or multidisciplinary teams
  • Finance: P&L accountability with growth focus
  • New Product Launch: knowledge of up & downstream marketing
  • Regulatory: understanding of requirements in Europe & US (Class I/II)
  • Research & Clinical Trials: medical devices

Other requirements:

  • English & French language
  • Willing to travel regularly to Amsterdam & France
  • Available at least 2-3 days a week initially
  • Capacity to increase as business grows
