À propos de Magellium

Magellium (Artal Group), with its 300 employees, is an independent company, specialised in the value chain of remote sensing data (from the satellite or drone sensor to its use in earth observation systems and services, cartography and geo-intelligence) which promotes mastery of space technologies, software, signal processing and geomatics.

As part of its Earth Observation activities (earthobservation.magellium.com), Magellium is involved in major programs led by space or operational agencies. Earth observation projects implement scientific processing chains for the satellite payloads or for added value products dedicated to applications. These processing chains, either processing prototypes or operational chains, are developed as part of the ground segments of satellite missions and operational earth observation programmes. The specificity of these processing activities lies in the required multiple capabilities in scientific or algorithmic techniques of remote sensing, of data fusion for thematic product generation and engineering methods –either system or software and IT-, in a processing environment often constrained by scientific quality and operational performance. These projects are generally performed in a European partnership context, in close interaction with both scientific experts and software industrial partners, to the benefit of geophysical and environment monitoring programmes.

Le poste

Reporting to the head of the Ground Segment section, you will undertake the responsibility of structuring projects, mainly in the remote sensing domain (optical imagery, atmospheric sounding, etc…) or in the context of geophysical applications derived from space data.

  • Steering and management of projects in an international, multi-partnership framework, in the domain of Earth Observation from space.
  • Management of internal teams (Magellium involved people) and external teams (project partners, sub-contractors) for optimising the project efficiency.
  • Direct interface with the customer, for all project phases, orientations and evolutions.
  • Leading role in negotiations with the customer and the project partners for technical task allocation and financial share.
  • Business development within the project, by extensions and evolutions, or in the domains directly connected to the project.
  • Proficiency in System engineering methods and standards (ECSS) for the development cycle in the space domain (project phases, milestones, reviews, processes, associated deliverables…).
  • Decision making within the project for all technical choices and orientations in close collaboration with both technical teams and the customer.
  • Responsibility, in the context of project preparation, of tender process, team management and organisation of tasks.
