As part of our international growth strategy, we are opening a VIE position based in Boston, MA, to support the development of Abolis's business across North America.
Reporting to and working closely with Felipe Sarmiento, our Head of Business Development in the US, the VIE will play a key role in identifying opportunities, building relationships with prospective partners and clients, and helping establish Abolis's presence in one of the world's most dynamic biotech ecosystems.
Core responsibilities will include:
Supporting outreach, lead generation, and qualification of prospective clients and industrial partners across the food, cosmetics, healthcare, and specialty chemicals sectors in North America.
Conducting market and competitive intelligence to identify partnership, licensing, and joint-development opportunities for Abolis's strain engineering platform, as well as M.I.N.E. software solution (previously known as Microbiome Studio).
Assisting in the preparation of pitch materials, proposals, and technical/commercial presentations for prospects and partners
Representing Abolis at trade shows, industry conferences, and networking events in the US
Maintaining and updating CRM records and contributing to regular reporting on pipeline and business development activity
Master's degree (or equivalent, Bac+5) from a business school, engineering school, or university program, ideally with a specialization or strong interest in life sciences, biotech, chemistry, or industrial/commercial development
Previous international experience (internship, exchange, or prior VIE) is a plus
Fluent English required; French is a plus for coordination with teams in France
Comfortable engaging with scientific and technical content, and able to translate it into clear commercial arguments
Strong communication, autonomy, and organizational skills; comfortable working independently in a small, remote team setup
Proficiency in Office and CRM tools
Entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity, and resilience — well suited to a fast-moving startup/scale-up environment
Eligible for the VIE program: French or other EU/EEA national, aged 22+ at the time of application

Duration: 12 months (possibility 18 months)
Start date: Q4 2026
Compensation: Monthly VIE allowance per Business France's official scale for the United States (a "dérogatoire" country with a specific indemnity level), tax-exempt in France, plus full social coverage
