• The TERRE project (Trans-European Replacement Reserves Exchange) aims at developing an IT platform for the market clearing of services exchanged between the European producers and transmission systems operators. Artelys, together with its partners, is responsible for providing the platform’s market clearing engine. The algorithm solves a large and complex optimization problem, which considers the bids of the various suppliers, balancing requests, and strict equity constraints between the actors. Receiving and matching quotes every hour of the day, the robustness and performance requirements of the optimization engine are very high: At each hour of the day, results are to be provided within 3 minutes for a problem containing up to 500,000 offers.

• The pan-European market of Guarantees of Origin (GO) launched by EPEX SPOT and EEX in 2022 is the first secondary GO market. It does not imply primary emissions by States but only exchanges of previously emitted certificates. Thanks to this innovative auction, the participants can put bids both on standard and specific offers. Artelys’ experts have contributed to the design of the auction and of its optimization engine and then to its development.

You will use your skills in quantitative methodologies and in the energy domain in various consulting and software development projects: 

• Leading discussions to establish the functional and/or technical specifications of operational and strategic computation modules in the energy market sector, in relation with the client and the development team and then participate to tests

• Participate to the design of European energy markets related processes

• Manage projects with a team of 2 to 4 persons: set up project structure, evaluate risks, define the resources needed to achieve delay, costs, and client satisfaction goals

• Take an active part in the acquisition of new clients: identify prospects, understand their needs, define our added-value, take initiatives, respond to calls for tenders

Holder of an engineering degree and with 5 years of experience, you are the ideal candidate if :

• You have one experience in power markets

• You have an interest for mathematical and quantitative approaches

• You have previously managed software delivery projects

• You are able to reconcile the client’s business vision, the developer’s technical vision and the company’s economic vision

• You are rigorous, have a strong team spirit and are focused on the customer’s needs

• You have a minimum B2 level in French

Working conditions:

• Permanent contract, managerial status with a 4-month probationary period.

• Up to 2 days of remote work per week possible.

• Flexible working hours.

• Offices located in the city center of each city where we are located

Recruitment process:

Step 1: An initial technical interview via video conference with two recruiters (45 minutes x 2).

Step 2: A second interview via video conference with two other recruiters, as well as a brief 15-minute discussion with the CEO of Artelys (45 minutes x 2 + 15 minutes).

Step 3: If your interviews are successful, we will invite you to visit our premises to make you an offer in person and introduce you to the work environment.
