Position Information
- Job Title: Accounting & Administration Officer
- Reporting to: Finance Project Manager
Role Overview
The Accounting & Administration Officer supports the finance and administrative operations of the group’s entities by managing daily accounting processes, bank activities, supplier relationships, and office administration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare accounting documentation required for accurate transaction booking.
- Manage the monthly closing process and ensure deadlines are met.
- Review and validate accounts received from external accounting firms.
- Provide electronic accounting documentation such as bank statements and supplier invoices.
- Optimize processes through task automation and implementation of new tools.
- Categorize and reconcile all bank transactions.
- Handle monthly provisions (accrued expenses, accrued income, prepaid expenses, deferred revenue).
“Voyages” activity with profit-margin scheme:
- Monitor automatically generated invoices and credit notes.
- Analyze margins per file and calculate VAT adjustments monthly.
- Ensure file statuses are accurate and kept updated.
2. Supplier and Purchase Management
- Maintain strong commercial relationships with all service providers.
- Manage purchases across various sites.
- Centralize all invoices and follow up on missing ones.
- Manage invoice dematerialization through Spendesk.
- Initiate supplier payments when due.
3. Bank & Treasury Management
- Monitor daily bank balances and financial flows.
- Perform intercompany transfers and optimize FX operations.
- Initiate bank transfers.
4. Administrative & Office Management
- Manage daily administrative tasks for the Mauritius office.
- Oversee upkeep and maintenance of facilities.
- ACCA qualified or other professional qualification in accounting or finance
- 3 or more years of accounting experience in an international company or accounting firm
- Excellent analytical and reasoning skills
- Ability to make proposals for the implementation of new tools/processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Good team spirit with the ability to work independently and under pressure
- Excellent time management skills
- Spoken languages: French and English
