Position: Assistant Resident Engineer

Location: On-site

Experience: +10 years of experience

Contract length: 25 months

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to join our client team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing and supervising the construction activities of road and related infrastructure projects.

• Review and revise project designs to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project requirements.

• Monitor and ensure quality control throughout the construction process, ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with the contract specifications and industry standards.

• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.

• Manage contract administration in accordance with FIDIC conditions of contract.

• Coordinate with local authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

• Prepare and present project progress reports, highlighting any issues, risks, and recommendations for improvement.

• Assume full responsibility of the Resident Engineer role in their absence, as formally notified to the Client.

Mandatory qualifications :

Education :

• BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

• Post-graduate qualifications in highway/civil engineering.

Experience:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in road design and construction supervision.

• Must have served as an Assistant Resident Engineer or Project Manager on at least two (2) road construction projects of similar nature within the last 10 years.

• Must be registered with the Tanzanian Engineering Board.

• Experienced in contract administration under FIDIC conditions.
