

Since 1985, CIRA has specialized in industrial instrumentation, particularly in regulation, testing, commissioning, diagnostics, and supervision of works. We operate internationally, primarily as a subcontractor for major industrial companies and system integrators.
Position: Automation Field Engineer Location: Côte d'Ivoire Start Date: February 2026 Rotation: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off or 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off Reports to: Field Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Review automation documents available on-site and report any necessary changes or corrections to the Field Engineering Manager.
Evaluate technical queries and deviation requests submitted by subcontractors or clients, and prepare detailed technical responses.
Resolve technical issues related to automation engineering or vendor documentation by liaising directly with vendors.
Provide redlined (marked-up) copies of engineering and vendor documents to support ongoing site construction activities.
Attend meetings with clients and end-users to clarify technical aspects of automation engineering documentation.
Support subcontractors’ technical teams in addressing any on-site technical challenges during erection works.
Collaborate with the commissioning and start-up departments to resolve technical issues with vendors related to automation systems.
Work closely with the Project Engineering Manager to provide technical feedback to the automation department head, focusing on improving the efficacy and efficiency of standard procedures and instructions.

Experience and Key Skills:
Professional Experience:
Minimum 5–7 years of experience as an Automation Field Engineer or similar role, preferably in industrial projects (oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, etc.).
Hands-on experience in reviewing and validating automation documents on-site.
Proven ability to address technical queries and prepare technical replies for subcontractors or clients.
Experience in solving technical issues related to automation engineering or vendor documentation through direct coordination with vendors.
Familiarity with site construction activities and providing redlined copies of engineering and vendor documents.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of automation systems, including PLC, DCS, SCADA, and industrial communication protocols.
Ability to review and approve technical documentation (P&IDs, loop diagrams, control narratives, etc.).
Experience in attending client meetings to clarify technical issues related to automation engineering documentation.
Proficiency in assisting subcontractors’ technical teams with on-site technical challenges during erection works.
Familiarity with commissioning and start-up procedures for automation systems.
HSE and Quality Competencies:
Awareness of HSE standards and ability to ensure compliance on-site.
Experience in quality control and adherence to safety regulations during automation activities.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
Leadership and ability to mentor junior engineers or technical teams.
Fluent in technical English (spoken and written). Knowledge of French is a plus.
Education:
Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field (Bachelor’s or equivalent).
Certifications in automation systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider) or project management (PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
Availability:
Available for a mission in Côte d'Ivoire starting February 2026.
Willing to work on a 4/4 or 5/5 rotation schedule.
