At Ascendance we are building tomorrow’s hybrid-electric aviation with ATEA, a unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft powered by STERNA, our in-house hybrid-electric propulsion system. We focus our efforts in designing an innovative, safe, silent, clean and affordable aircraft that will be able to blend into existing infrastructures and regulations to ease its deployment and maximise social acceptance.
If you are looking for a place where you will have a direct impact on very ambitious products, where you will work close to the hardware and where you can witness the result of your hard work quickly, board ATEA and come fly with us toward the future of aviation!
You will be responsible for leading the design, development and test activities related to ATEA’s avionics. Directly reporting to the Overall System Design team leader, you will therefore manage the team being in charge of human machine interface, communication, navigation and surveillance systems, as well as sensors and flight test instruments, to ensure the avionics are compliant with certification, operational and performance requirements.
Your main responsibilities will be :
Mastering the current avionics architecture and proposing rationalized improvements
Supporting safety analysis
Capturing needs from stakeholders (i.e. Management, Authorities, Pilots, Flight Tests engineers, …)
Managing the avionics team to ensure efficient organization and delivery
Responsible for the development of avionics systems
Responsible for the full integration and interoperability of avionics systems (Display, FWS, FAS, control panel, ADAHRS, …)
Ensuring adequate interface with flight physics team on embedded flight management algorithms
Supporting the physical and functional integration of the avionics equipments into the test benches up to the aircraft prototype taking into account mechanical, thermal, EMC/EMI constraints
Have knowledge on data communication networks (CAN/Arinc 285, Arinc 429, RS428, …)
Consolidating and detailing the development and testing (SIL/HIL) roadmaps
