
At Ascendance we are building tomorrow’s hybrid-electric aviation with ATEA, a unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft powered by STERNA, our in-house hybrid-electric propulsion system. Your role: 🔎
Reporting directly to the Avionics System Team Lead, you will support the development of the ATEA prototype program by developing end-to-end avionics system functions.
You will contribute across the full V-cycle with the following key objectives:
Achieve the prototype Permit to Fly
Ensure safe operations throughout the flight test campaign.
The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including Flight Control, Propulsion, Software, V&V, Flight Test, Production, Safety, Airworthiness, and equipment suppliers.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Lead function definition and development activities through the requirements cascade, including requirements and non-compliance management
Ensure proper configuration management and traceability in accordance with internal processes
Coordinate technical activities with interfacing teams
Write laboratory test procedures and contribute to flight test procedure preparation
Support laboratory testing and investigation sessions
Manage technical discussions and follow-up with suppliers
Support safety and airworthiness activities
Support aircraft assembly activities.

The job has been made for you if you : 🛠
Have at least 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry, including a minimum of 3 years in systems engineering
Demonstrate strong coordination skills within complex development environments
Have experience working on critical systems with DAL A, B and C constraints
Have good knowledge of avionics architectures, systems and data communication protocols (CAN / ARINC429 / RS232&485 / AFDX)
Are familiar with ARP4754 development processes and methods
Have a basic understanding of safety engineering and a strong interest in the field
Are fluent in both French and English.
