Our expertise spans the entire Earth Observation data value chain, from satellite and sensor data acquisition to its exploitation for mapping, geospatial intelligence and environmental monitoring.

Within our Earth Observation business, we contribute to European programmes involving space agencies, institutions, industrial companies and scientific partners.

To support the continued growth of this business, we are looking for a Business Development Manager for our offers in Earth Observation from Space.

Your Role

Your mission will be to grow Magellium’s business in the European Earth Observation market and, more broadly, across the space sector, by identifying new opportunities, developing relationships with key stakeholders and working with our teams to define the most effective positioning strategies.

You will act as a key link between market needs, European opportunities, and Magellium’s technical and scientific expertise.

You will work closely with the Head of the Earth Observation business and our technical and scientific experts.

Key Responsibilities

Develop the Ecosystem and Strategic Partnerships

  • Build and maintain a network of contacts across European space agencies, institutions, industrial companies, NewSpace players and scientific partners.

  • Identify and qualify new partners in line with emerging business opportunities.

  • Initiate and develop scientific, technical and industrial collaborations and partnerships.

  • Build and coordinate European consortia aligned with Magellium’s areas of expertise.

Develop Opportunities in Collaboration with Magellium’s Teams

  • Understand customer needs and translate them into concrete business opportunities for our teams.

  • Work with technical and scientific experts to define Magellium’s positioning for targeted projects.

  • Define bid strategies in response to calls for tenders and other competitive procurement processes.

  • Coordinate internal and external contributors to ensure the technical, commercial and financial consistency of proposals.

  • Take part in negotiations with customers, partners and subcontractors.

Contribute to Business Growth

  • Develop and strengthen a portfolio of European customers and partners.

  • Monitor business opportunities and help convert them into contracts.

  • Contribute to defining the medium-term business development roadmap.

  • Represent Magellium within its ecosystem and help strengthen the company’s visibility in the European market.

Profil recherché

The Profile We Are Looking For

You hold a degree in engineering, from a leading engineering school, or from a business school, and have significant experience in the space sector, more particularly in Earth Observation, remote sensing or a related field.

You have a strong understanding of the European space ecosystem and its key stakeholders, including space agencies, European institutions, industrial companies, research laboratories and NewSpace players.

You have experience in several of the following areas:

  • Business development or market development in the space sector.

  • European programmes and calls for tenders.

  • Earth Observation and remote sensing.

  • Industrial or scientific partnerships.

  • Consortium building and coordination.

  • Relationships with institutional and industrial stakeholders.

Your added value lies as much in your understanding of technical and scientific challenges as in your ability to identify opportunities, build trusted relationships and turn ideas into concrete projects.

You are comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including scientific experts, engineers, industrial partners, institutional representatives and senior decision-makers.

You are also able to develop and present proposals, coordinate contributors and advocate for a competitive positioning in the context of calls for tenders and other competitive bidding processes.

You are fluent in both French and English.

Fluent English is essential for working in this European and international environment.
