Leonardo Belgium is supporting a major European Institution in strengthening its cyber defense, implementation, and operational security capabilities.

You will join a high-impact cybersecurity environment where execution, reliability, and continuous protection are critical. The role sits at the core of security delivery, ensuring that cybersecurity controls and solutions are effectively deployed and maintained across a complex, multi-site and hybrid infrastructure.

This is not a purely operational role, you will combine technical expertise with leadership and stakeholder interaction in a highly regulated, international environment to drive implementation decisions. This role is suited for experienced cybersecurity professionals who have operated in high-stakes environments and are comfortable taking the lead and ensuring secure and resilient implementations.

  • Location : Brussels (3 days on-site 2 days remote from a nearby location)

Job description

As Cybersecurity Implementation Lead, you will own and drive the deployment and maintenance of cybersecurity solutions, ensuring alignment with defined architectures, policies, and operational requirements. You will coordinate efforts to translate security designs into secure, hardened, and fully operational environments.

You will:

  • Lead the deployment and operation of cybersecurity controls and solutions

  • Act as SPOC for implementation activities, coordinating internal teams and stakeholders

  • Ensure secure configuration and hardening of systems, applications, and network components

  • Oversee the integration of security solutions within existing infrastructures

  • Drive remediation activities based on vulnerability assessments and audit findings

  • Ensure proper documentation of configurations, procedures, and security implementations

  • Validate the effectiveness of deployed controls through testing and verification

  • Provide technical guidance on security best practices to stakeholders and users

  • Coordinate with architecture and operations teams to ensure consistency and alignment

  • Monitor and resolve performance and security issues in implemented solutions

  • Provide continuous situational awareness to support decision-making and prioritization

Profile

Experience / Education / Certification Requirements

  • Proven experience leading or coordinating cybersecurity implementation activities within complex, large-scale environments

  • Experience deploying and managing security solutions across infrastructure and systems

  • Previous exposure to EU institutions or regulated environments is a plus

  • A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is considered an asset

  • At least one cybersecurity-related certification

Personal Attributes

  • Ability to lead and coordinate under pressure

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Structured, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment

  • Strong command of English, French and/or Italian are assets

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of networks, systems, and security technologies

  • Experience with cybersecurity controls and implementation practices

  • Hands-on experience with security tools and infrastructure

  • Understanding of secure configuration and hardening standards

  • Scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell or similar)

  • Ability to translate security requirements into technical implementations

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
