À propos de Ascendance Flight Technologies

At Ascendance we are building tomorrow’s hybrid-electric aviation with ATEA, a unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft powered by STERNA, our in-house hybrid-electric propulsion system. We focus our efforts in designing an innovative, safe, silent, clean and affordable aircraft that will be able to blend into existing infrastructures and regulations to ease its deployment and maximise social acceptance.

If you are looking for a place where you will have a direct impact on very ambitious products, where you will work close to the hardware and where you can witness the result of your hard work quickly, board ATEA and come fly with us toward the future of aviation!

Le poste

Your role : 🔎

As a member of the technical team at Ascendance you will actively participate in the development of our onboard calculators that will host Ascendance’s key product : A>OS, our embedded operating system for the hybrid propulsion system and ATEA’s flight control system. Within the Ascendance team and working in close collaboration with the embedded software architect, you will lead the design, specification, development and testing of the calculator that will fly onboard Atea as well as other potential platforms that can integrate A>OS. You will be responsible for the execution of the development of that component and as such will be the point of contact of all related suppliers and lead and design associated testbenches.

Your main responsibilities will be :

  • Owning the architecture of the onboard calculator and propose rationalized improvements
  • Lead supplier discussions and follow-up to ensure on-time delivery of the equipment
  • Coordinate with the onboard software team to accommodate their software requirements
  • Interfacing with the Flight Control Laws team to ensure adequate functionalities and onboard algorithms
  • Finalizing architecture and technology trade-offs with rationalized methodology
  • Supporting safety analysis on your system
  • Specify and eventually design test means for your system as well as lead the associated test campaign setup with potential external partners to comply with DO-254 standards.
  • Finalizing make or buy strategy, supplier benchmarking, selection, and management to ensure delivery in time / quality / costs
  • Supporting the physical integration of the calculator into the test benches up to the aircraft prototype taking into account mechanical, thermal, EMC/EMI constraints

Where do we stand?

You will be entering the team during a crucial part of our development. Full scale testbenches are ongoing while full scale aircraft development is running at full speed with many challenges to tackle regarding the onboard calculator and associated developments. You will be working in an interdisciplinary team to find global compromise while being given a high level view of the aircraft and propulsion system’s requirements.
