Experienced Wiring System CAD Designer (All gender)

At Ascendance we are building tomorrow’s hybrid-electric aviation with ATEA, a unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft powered by STERNA, our in-house hybrid-electric propulsion system. Your role : 🔎

You are an experienced wiring system CAD design technician or engineer with an aerospace background, and have demonstrated experience in the generation and handling of electrical harness and hydraulic piping Installation. Within a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary team you will develop and refine the state-of-the-art structure of the aircraft and ensure the technical link between the design office and the production to reach the airframe manufacturing objectives.

Your main responsibilities will be : 

• Generate 3D CAD for wire routing, clamp locations, and datum markers according to aerospace standards.

• Author 2D drawings based on 3D design, utilizing industry best practices

• Be pro-active in providing solutions to support and protect wire harnesses

• Participates in design trade studies, creating and maintaining interfaces and coordination with other engineering departments.

• Support BOM, Change Control processes, including weight management and the release process with engineering and PLM.

• Strong experience with Catia 3DX environment for the creation & validation of 3D models, specifically in Electrical 3D Design, Electrical 3D Part Design, Electrical Manufacturing Preparation.

• Generation & handling of electrical harness Installation and Drawings.

• Generation & handling of hydraulic routing Installation and Drawings.

• Familiar with configuration management process.

• Strong working knowledge of electronic and electrical components including connectors, retention. Having knowledge on hydraulic components would be a plus.

• Understanding of harness pre-definition and experience on harness topology or morphology would be desirable.

• Familiarity with EWIS aerospace standards.
