We are seeking a motivated Finance Specialist with a strong focus on tax and compliance to join our team in Senegal. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of tax planning, financial operations, and adherence to local and international regulations. Job description

Tax Planning & Compliance:

  • Assist in developing and implementing tax strategies to optimize tax efficiency and ensure compliance with Senegalese tax laws and regulations.

  • Analyze financial data to identify potential tax savings opportunities and risks.

  • Prepare and submit accurate tax returns, declarations, and reports for corporate income tax, VAT, property tax, withholding taxes, and other applicable taxes.

  • Collaborate with external tax consultants to ensure accurate tax calculations and reporting.

  • Assist in managing relationships with local tax authorities and responding to tax-related inquiries.

Financial Operations & Management:

  • Handle day-to-day financial operations, including processing payments, bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable management, and expense tracking.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, budget reports, and cash flow forecasts.

  • Collaborate with external bookkeeping companies and ensure accurate data integration between local accounting software (SAGE) and SAP.

Investment Code & Compliance:

  • Assist in gathering and preparing documentation for Investment Code applications, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines.

  • Support the coordination with APIX officials and relevant stakeholders to secure Investment Code approvals.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Prepare financial reports and analysis as needed.

  • Assist with budget preparation and tracking.

  • Provide support during audits and other compliance activities.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial processes and procedures.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in finance and accounting, with a focus on tax and compliance in Senegal.

  • Solid understanding of Senegalese tax laws, IFRS, and international tax regulations.

  • Proficient in SAGE accounting software, SAP (or other ERP systems), and MS Office Suite.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Fluency in English and French.
