At Ascendance we are building tomorrow’s hybrid-electric aviation with ATEA, a unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft powered by STERNA, our in-house hybrid-electric propulsion system. Your role : 🔎
You will be responsible for designing the flight control laws, at the heart of the intelligence of ATEA. Directly reporting to the Flight Control System leader, you will therefore ensure the flight control algorithms are compliant with certification, operational and performance requirements.
Your main responsibilities will be :
Mastering the current flight control laws (FCL) architecture and proposing rationalized improvements
Consolidate FCL specifications
Design and develop FCL taking into account safety, performance, and corner case assessments
Specify implementation constraints interfacing with the Avionics team to ensure FCL are adapted to the onboard calculator
Develop human pilot behavioural models
Define associated Verification and Validation means, from digital models to experimental test benches
Verify and validate FCL up to flight testing campaign
The job has been made for you if you : 🛠
Have strong experience (10+ years) in automation & control, flight controls, control allocation and fly-by-wire systems
Have deep understanding of aircraft flight dynamics
Gave general knowledge of overall aircraft design and design convergence
Flight testing experience is a plus
An experience of CS-23 and CS-27 certification requirements is a plus
