At Ascendance we are building tomorrow’s hybrid-electric aviation with ATEA, a unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft powered by STERNA, our in-house hybrid-electric propulsion system. Your role : 🔎
You will be responsible for designing the flight control laws, at the heart of the intelligence of ATEA. Directly reporting to the Flight Control System leader, you will therefore ensure the flight control algorithms are compliant with certification, operational and performance requirements.
Your main responsibilities will be :
Design and validate Flight Control Laws taking into account safety, performance, and corner case assessments
Specify high level requirements to the Software team to ensure Flight Control Laws are adapted to the real-time computer
Specify relevant cockpit displays to the Avionics team
Define verification tests, performed on digital models or hardware-in-the-loop test benches
Verify and validate Flight Control Laws up to flight testing campaign
Where do we stand?
You will be entering the team during a crucial part of our development. Full scale testbenches are ongoing while full scale aircraft development is running at full speed with many issues to tackle regarding communications networks and associated developments. You will be working in an interdisciplinary team to find global compromise while being given a high level view of the aircraft and propulsion system’s requirements.

Mandatory :
Have experience (3+ years) in automation & control, flight controls, fly-by-wire systems
Have deep understanding of airplane flight dynamics
Have a Swiss-Army-knife attitude towards technical challenges
Be autonomous and proactive
Have general knowledge of overall aircraft design and design convergence
Rotorcraft flight dynamics is a plus
Flight testing experience is a plus
An experience of CS-23 and CS-27 certification requirements is a plus
