Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager to represent the organization as a dynamic, proactive leader, driving its strategic vision and enhancing engagement with key stakeholders. This role requires a highly networked individual who can act as the face of the organization, manage business development initiatives, orchestrate impactful events, and forge meaningful partnerships across multiple sectors, both locally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Operations

• Lead the development and execution of programs, organizational strategies, and financial plans to ensure long-term success.

• Oversee financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Manage, motivate, and guide a team, setting clear objectives and ensuring the effective execution of key initiatives.

• Provide strategic insights and regular reports to the Board, covering financials, KPIs, and key performance trends.

Business Development & Community Growth

• Drive client acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies that support the organization’s vision.

• Establish and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with a diverse network of businesses, investors, government entities, and key community players.

• Actively promote the organization’s mission and support international companies seeking to enter or expand in the local market through tailored services.

Event & Partnership Management

• Conceptualize, plan, and execute high-impact events that foster networking, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration across industries.

• Secure and engage high-profile speakers, sponsors, and industry leaders to enhance the value and visibility of events.

• Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with both local and international organizations, ensuring sustained business and community growth.

Communication & Representation

• Serve as the organization's public face, ensuring a strong presence within the community and industry.

• Lead communication strategies across multiple channels, including social media, newsletters, and publications, to maintain visibility and engagement.

• Represent the organization at key forums, conferences, and networking events, cultivating relationships and ensuring the organization’s influence is felt across the business landscape.

• Proven experience in a leadership role, with a strong track record in business development, event management, and strategic partnerships.

• Extensive networking experience and established connections within both local and international business communities.

• Exceptional communication skills in English and French (Swahili is a plus).

• Ability to build relationships and engage with stakeholders at all levels.

• A dynamic, proactive, and results-oriented individual with a passion for representing the organization and its community.

• Must be Tanzanian or a local candidate already residing in Dar es Salaam.
