Job description

About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Grinding Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform precision grinding on coating rollers and blades to ensure all products meet our strict production and quality standards. You will also play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment while contributing to overall plant efficiency. This role will be on our afternoon shift 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

What you’ll do:

  • Set up, adjust, and safely operate grinding equipment to finish coating rolls and margins.

  • Precision-hone blades to exact technical specifications as required.

  • Maintain and dress grinding wheels regularly to ensure optimal cutting performance.

  • Inspect finished coating rolls and ISO blades against blueprint specifications.

  • Measure roller diameter and parallelism using precision tools to ensure perfect tolerances.

  • Identify and report any product defects or machine inconsistencies immediately to supervisors.

  • Perform machine maintenance, including changing coolant, lubricants, bands, stones, wheels, and dust collectors.

  • Monitor and log stock levels of available rolls and blades.

  • Safely operate the roller carousel system as required.

  • Collaborate with team members to hit production targets and meet strict deadlines.

  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning checklists to maintain a safe, organized workspace.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in grinding, precision machining, or a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools accurately to verify tolerances.

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and hands-on problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for the duration of a shift.

  • Capability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver heavy components safely.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision machine operation.

  • Advanced focus on quality control and detecting product inconsistencies.

  • A self-starter with high initiative and strong organizational skills.

  • Commitment to keeping a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as a collaborative team member.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to report issues and coordinate with supervisors.


Profile

What we offer: 

  • Training Rate $$25.17/hr. Wage Increase After Training Period $26.50/hr. + Profit Share Eligibility 

  • Shift Premiums - Afternoons $0.50/hr
