Position Summary
The Group Director of Operations provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and performance management for a portfolio of five hotels in Algeria. This executive role ensures that each property delivers exceptional guest experiences, upholds brand standards, optimizes financial results, and maintains operational excellence in alignment with brand guidelines and ownership objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Provide day-to-day oversight for hotel operations through direct supervision of General Managers.
Ensure consistent adherence to brand standards, service culture, and operational procedures across all properties.
Lead operational performance reviews, audits, and quality assessments to drive continuous improvement.
Financial Performance & Commercial Strategy
Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial KPIs for all hotels.
Partner with Sales, Revenue, and Finance teams to maximize RevPAR, GOP, and overall profitability.
Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising guest satisfaction or brand reputation.
Guest Experience & Quality Assurance
Drive service excellence initiatives to maintain high guest-satisfaction scores.
Implement action plans based on guest feedback, quality audits, and operational insights.
Promote a strong service culture across all teams and hotel departments.
People Leadership & Talent Development
Support General Managers in hiring, developing, and retaining top talent.
Oversee workforce planning, training programs, and succession planning across the portfolio.
Ensure compliance with local labor laws and internal HR policies.
Brand Compliance & Corporate Governance
Ensure that each hotel meets or exceeds brand standards in all operational areas.
Oversee compliance related to safety, security, hygiene (HACCP), sustainability, and regulatory requirements.
Act as a liaison between ownership, internal corporate teams, and local authorities.
Strategic Projects & Expansion
Lead major operational initiatives, renovations, or new property openings within the portfolio.
Evaluate market conditions and operational benchmarks to drive long-term strategic planning.
Implement group-wide best practices, technologies, and operational improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
At least 5 years of experience in a similar multi-property or cluster leadership role.
Strong background in international hotel operations and service standards.
Proven track record in financial management, operational optimization, and guest-experience excellence.
Experience working in emerging markets, North Africa, or similar environments is an asset.
Fluent in English and French; Arabic is an advantage.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
