SpaceLocker makes satellite missions more efficient and sustainable through in-orbit payload hosting: any organization can send sensors or experiments into space without worrying about the technical side, while gaining performance and reducing emissions and debris. Our technology stack, combining proprietary hardware with cloud-inspired software, creates a true "space USB" with revolutionary plug-and-play.
Far from dog-picture blockchains or lunar hotels, we are building a solid company, a foundation for the next era of space exploration, driven by technical expertise, rapid prototyping, and a direct link to the market.
SpaceLocker is committed to diversity and inclusion — age, gender, origin, disability (with a slight irony, our founding team being the most "average white guys" imaginable 😀). Progress and inclusion require real effort and compromise, not just words.
You must hold citizenship from a country of the European Union, or listed under EU General Export Clause 1, to the exception of the USA, to apply to this position.
We are opening a Head of Engineering position to structure and lead the entire technical team — hardware, embedded software, and production. You will be the internal technical authority, the bridge between R&D and industrialization, and the driving force behind team dynamics.
Your missions
You will be in contact with all SpaceLocker’s technical teams to:
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team (hardware, electronics, embedded software, mechanics), while maintaining high standards and a strong collective dynamic
Act as the team’s technical reference, arbitrating key choices related to architecture, materials, components and processes
Drive the scale-up of SpaceLocker’s production and industrialization capabilities
Ensure and maintain the team’s rigor across specification, design and AIV activities
Own the engineering product roadmap in close collaboration with the CTO
Structure product line management with an end-to-end system vision
Take part in HR reviews, performance assessments and technical recruiting within the engineering team
Help unblock critical technical issues to maintain the team’s execution speed and delivery momentum
The plus sides:
You will work on multiple missions and projects simultaneously, each at a different level of maturity – from R&D to in-orbit operations, including AIT and systems engineering – and often with extremely short timelines from paper to orbit
You will join a fast-moving company and play a key role in shaping its growth and its contribution to innovative aerospace solutions
You will have the opportunity to work at the heart of the space ecosystem, interacting with payload and platform manufacturers, operators and institutions, and contributing to some of the most advanced technologies in the industry
This list is neither exhaustive nor exclusive. If you think you’re a good fit, even without matching every requirement, we’d love to hear from you.
