We are looking for our client, STMB, a company that has specialized in container transportation for over 25 years in Madagascar, for a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Manager M/F.

The Position:
Reporting to the General Manager, your mission is to ensure both preventive and corrective maintenance of a fleet of 35 trucks and 60 trailers across two sites: Antananarivo and Tamatave, in order to guarantee their performance and availability.

Job description

- Supervising and coordinating the maintenance activities of trucks and trailers

- Ensuring the security and preservation of assets and consumables

- Establishing and monitoring preventive maintenance schedules

- Diagnosing and anticipating breakdowns and malfunctions, and implementing corrective actions and interventions

- Optimizing inventory and stock management: spare parts, tires, and consumables

- Handling and monitoring purchases from local and international suppliers

- Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards

- Managing a team of 42 staff members (mechanics, electricians, welders, storekeepers, stock manager)

- Training personnel on procedures, technical operations, and work tools

- Providing regular reports to the General Manager

Job Location: Antananarivo, Madagascar

Profile

With a background in mechanical maintenance, you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the field, ideally within a transport company or an operation managing a fleet of similar or larger size (trucks and trailers)

  • Or experience in the military, having held technical positions related to the management of trucks, fuel, and various consumables

 

You have strong managerial skills, recognized technical expertise in the maintenance of industrial vehicles, and proven abilities in operations control, organization, and prioritization. Your integrity is beyond reproach.
With energy, autonomy, and responsiveness, you manage day-to-day operations with your teams. You demonstrate strong adaptability and communication skills in a multicultural environment.
Knowledge of Madagascar and/or international professional experience is a real asset.
