Position: Materials / Highway Engineer

Location: On-site

Experience: +10 years of experience

Contract length: 10 months

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Materials / Highway Engineer to join our client team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of construction materials to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.

• Provide technical expertise in geo-technical engineering for road and infrastructure projects.

• Oversee and manage the testing and quality control of materials used in various stages of construction.

• Collaborate with the project team to ensure materials are used effectively and efficiently within the project scope.

• Prepare and present detailed reports on material quality, project progress, and any issues encountered during construction.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, regulations, and project requirements.

• Participate in site inspections and provide guidance to contractors and site teams on material-related issues.

• Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, ensuring that material requirements and quality standards are clearly understood and adhered to.

Mandatory qualifications :

• Must be registered with the Tanzanian Engineering Board.

• BSc in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.

• Postgraduate qualification in Highway, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering.

• Minimum of ten (10) years post-graduation working experience in infrastructure projects.

• Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience as a Materials Engineer for infrastructure projects.

• Should have worked as a Materials Engineer on at least two (2) projects involving the construction of bitumen roads over the last five (5) years.

• Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
