Position Overview
As a Commissioning Engineer (Buildings & Industry) at TERAO Asia, you will ensure the optimal performance of technical systems in both building and industrial environments.
You will lead and support commissioning, retro-commissioning activities for HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, refrigeration, and other utility systems.
This role combines on-site work, data analysis, and coordination with project stakeholders to guarantee efficiency, reliability, and compliance with design intent. You can also contribute to cross-functional energy performance projects such as audits, M&V, and ISO 50001 implementation.
Job Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Vietnam Energy Efficiency Business Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Project Execution
· 1. Commissioning & Retro-Commissioning
o Execute commissioning and retro-commissioning activities for HVAC, chilled water, compressed air, and refrigeration systems.
o Conduct functional tests, data logging, and system performance verification.
o Review BMS control sequences and identify optimization opportunities.
o Analyze energy and performance data to detect inefficiencies and propose improvements.
o Prepare detailed commissioning reports and issue logs.
· 3. Design Review & Coordination
o Review design drawings, equipment schedules, and control strategies to ensure commissioning readiness.
o Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients during site testing and handover.
o Verify compliance with specifications, sustainability targets, and energy performance goals.
· 4. Methodology & Tool Development
o Contribute to TERAO’s internal commissioning templates, functional test protocols, and dashboards.
o Support the improvement of in-house methodologies for Cx/RCx and energy monitoring.
· 5. Energy Efficiency & ISO 50001 Support
o Collaborate with the energy audit and ISO 50001 teams to ensure consistency between audit findings, commissioning results, and performance monitoring.
o Participate in measurement and verification (M&V) activities for post-implementation evaluation.
Requirements
· Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
· Certification in CBCP (Certified Building Commissioning Professional) or related commissioning credentials is an advantage.
· Certification in PMVA (Performance Measurement and Verification Analyst) or CMVP (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional) is a plus.
