Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Tax Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all tax-related matters for our company, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and maximizing tax efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax law, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-experts.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local taxes.
• Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and property tax.
• Manage tax audits and other tax-related inquiries.
• Provide advice and guidance on tax matters to other departments within the company.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate any impacts to the company.
• Identify areas of risk and opportunity related to tax and develop plans to address them.
• Work with external tax advisors to ensure that the company is getting the best possible advice.

Profile

Experience in tax-related positions, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• CPA or other relevant certification preferred.
