Position Summary
The MAINTENANCE & CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR is responsible for the cleanliness, safety, upkeep, and visual presentation of the entire indoor facility at Mouratoglou Racket Club Noblesville.
This is a hands-on role. The MAINTENANCE & CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR personally performs cleaning, janitorial, and handyman work. They also run preventive maintenance, manage vendors, and supervise any maintenance or custodial staff. Together this keeps the club play-ready, spotless, and aligned with Mouratoglou brand standards every day.
Key Responsibilities
Indoor Court Care (Tennis & Padel)
Perform daily inspections and cleaning of all indoor tennis and padel courts, including dust and debris removal and surface upkeep.
Maintain padel courts. This includes turf brushing, sand infill redistribution, glass panel cleaning and inspection, and upkeep of mesh, doors, and structural components.
Maintain tennis court surfaces, lines, nets, posts, center straps, windscreens, and divider curtains.
Report surface wear and coordinate resurfacing or specialist repairs as needed.
Cleaning & Janitorial
Execute and oversee the daily cleaning program for locker rooms, showers, restrooms, reception, lounge areas, the pro shop, and the food and beverage corner.
Restock restroom, locker room, and cleaning supplies; manage trash and recycling removal.
Perform floor care, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and periodic deep cleaning.
Keep the food and beverage area clean and sanitary in coordination with the F&B lead and applicable health department requirements.
Create and follow opening, mid-day, and closing checklists so the facility stays guest-ready at all hours.
Handyman & General Repairs
Perform minor repairs, including plumbing fixtures, light fixtures and bulbs, doors, locks, lockers, hardware, drywall, painting, and furniture.
Handle installations such as signage, equipment, fixtures, and pro shop displays.
Escalate work that requires a licensed trade, such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC, to qualified contractors.
Building Systems
Monitor HVAC, ventilation, and humidity levels to maintain comfortable playing conditions and prevent condensation on court surfaces.
Maintain court and facility lighting (LED systems), water heaters, and other building equipment.
Oversee exterior upkeep, including the entrance, parking area, and walkways. Coordinate snow and ice removal during winter months.
Preventive Maintenance
Develop and run a scheduled preventive maintenance program for courts, building systems, and equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
Maintain maintenance logs, an asset and equipment inventory, and service records.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
Source, schedule, and oversee third-party providers, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pest control, fire and life safety systems, waste hauling, snow removal, and court resurfacing specialists.
Verify work quality and completion, and review vendor invoices.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure the facility meets applicable safety standards, fire code, and local regulations.
Maintain chemical safety practices, including Safety Data Sheets, proper labeling and storage, and the use of personal protective equipment.
Follow proper procedures for cleaning up bodily fluids.
Check fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signage, and the AED on a set schedule.
Keep the facility accessible to people with disabilities, report and document incidents or hazards promptly, and support inspections.
Budget & Inventory
Manage the maintenance and janitorial budget, including supply procurement, inventory control, and cost tracking.
Recommend capital repairs or replacements with cost justification.
Team Supervision
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance and custodial staff, including part-time or evening cleaners.
Set cleaning and maintenance standards and conduct quality checks.
Build staff schedules that cover early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
•3 to 5 years of experience in facility maintenance, janitorial, or building operations. Experience in sports clubs, fitness centers, hospitality, or similar guest-facing venues is preferred.
•Strong general handyman skills and working knowledge of building systems, especially HVAC.
•Experience supervising staff and working with vendors.
•Willingness to do hands-on cleaning and physical work daily.
•Organized, detail-oriented, and proud of a clean, well-presented facility.
•Basic computer skills for maintenance logs, scheduling, and email.
•Valid driver's license.
•Preferred: experience with indoor tennis or padel court surfaces, CPR/AED certification, and EPA 608 certification.
