Job description

The primary objective of this position is to provide on-site expertise in maintenance, troubleshooting of forestry equipment, and Triton production.

  • Equipment includes, but is not limited to: forestry loaders (wheeled and tracked), log trucks/dump trucks, boats, barges, grinders, forklifts, Triton company vehicles, generators, etc.

As well as supervising the work of the industrial mechanics manager assigned to the northern platform covering the industrial section: including the sawmill, sharpening workshop, planing workshop, weighbridge, dryers, offices, etc.

The main tasks include, but are not limited to:

Coordination of maintenance activities:

  • Implement and monitor a maintenance schedule adapted to the company's resources in accordance with QHSE policy

  • Implement a CMMS system to optimize maintenance activities, reduce their impact on production, and ensure that they are kept up to date

  • Performing corrective and preventive maintenance on site equipment and resolving major and unexpected breakdowns while reducing the impact on production

Optimizing the means and resources of the activity:

· Participating in the construction of the budget for your area and managing it

· Supervise the work of the storekeeper by issuing purchase orders, approving quotes, and monitoring stocks of spare parts, fuel, and lubricants (as well as store inventories) with the aim of ensuring that the supply of spare parts and other supplies anticipates the needs of the departments (particularly those of maintenance and mechanical interventions)

  • Maintain regular contact with the manufacturers of our fleet of machines and spare parts to ensure that maintenance needs are met

  • Monitor technical and documentary information on the fleet of machines, including operating manuals, plans and diagrams (electrical, electronic, hydraulic, etc.), safety manuals, etc.

  • Draft and/or supervise procedures and operating methods within your scope

  • Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of all data and systems

Management and leadership of a team:

· Participate in the recruitment of team members

  • Management of your team: monitor their activity in compliance with labor legislation, conduct annual reviews, and develop skills by implementing the necessary internal or external training

  • Create and monitor performance indicators for the activity

· Comply with and enforce regulations and internal rules, particularly with regard to health, safety, and environmental policy and confidentiality

· Take a proactive approach by communicating all useful data/information to technical experts and management

Profile

- Engineering degree or equivalent in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field

- At least 10 years of significant experience in a similar position in an industrial environment

- Good knowledge of CMMS software and continuous improvement tools (such as 5S) would be a plus

- Proficiency in computer tools (Excel, Office suite)

- Strong technical skills in mechanics, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation

- Proven team management skills

- Ability to read and understand plans, electrical/electronic and hydraulic diagrams

- Knowledge of communications and network systems, including practical knowledge of RS485 and RS232

- Practical experience in troubleshooting and repairing PLC systems

- Fluency in English desired (Toeic level B2)

- Possession of an “inland waters” boat license and CACES R482 category G would be appreciated
