At Ascendance we are building tomorrow’s hybrid-electric aviation with ATEA, a unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft powered by STERNA, our in-house hybrid-electric propulsion system. We focus our efforts in designing an innovative, safe, silent, clean and affordable aircraft that will be able to blend into existing infrastructures and regulations to ease its deployment and maximise social acceptance.
If you are looking for a place where you will have a direct impact on very ambitious products, where you will work close to the hardware and where you can witness the result of your hard work quickly, board ATEA and come fly with us toward the future of aviation!
Your role : 🔎
Directly reporting to the Hybrid System Team Lead, you will work closely with all members of the Sterna team to gather information to build the digital twin describing the integration and the electrical, thermal and mechanical constraints of the propulsion system. You lead the simulation of the digital twin to determine the performance levels of the different systems.
Your main responsibilities will be :
Lead the design, implementation and testing of the digital twin of the STERNA propulsion system, to serve the company in technical and communication.
Participate in the capitalisation efforts of the propulsion test beds in terms of data acquisition, model refinement and extrapolation of results.
Provide support to each major propulsion subsystem manager to create ad-hoc models for use in trade-offs and design decisions.
Build a reliable, controlled and stable digital twin of the STERNA propulsion system propulsion system, to be used for certification purposes.
To model and predict the performance of the electrical machines, including transient behavior and failure cases.
Arbitrate the various trade-offs at the system level and actively participate in trade-offs at the aircraft level to achieve overall optimisation in design and performance, including recommendations for solutions and solutions and associated implementation.
Actively and concretely participate in the system integration and test campaign test campaign phases as well as in flight tests.
Where do we stand?
Founded on Ascendance’s strong values, the whole team is involved in creating both innovative products to decarbonize aviation and an accurate company structure to support its fast development.
Full scale testbenches are ongoing while full scale aircraft development is running at full speed.
Sky's our limit, we are looking forward to the flight test campaign !
