Overall System Design Lead (all gender)

At Ascendance we are building tomorrow’s hybrid-electric aviation with ATEA, a unique Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft powered by STERNA, our in-house hybrid-electric propulsion system. We focus our efforts in designing an innovative, safe, silent, clean and affordable aircraft that will be able to blend into existing infrastructures and regulations to ease its deployment and maximise social acceptance.

Your role : 🔎

As Head of Overall System design team you’ll be the manager of a high skilled team around 15 people. It is expected to lead the team respecting Ascendance values with a high level of inclusivity and flexibility to ensure a strong and positive team spirit. You are solution driven, innovative and creative this job is for you.

You’ll be in charge of the development of the following a/c systems : 

• Avionic
• Flight Control System 
• Flight Control Law
• Landing Gear and braking
• Air System 
• Cockpit HMI 

More generally : ATA 21,22,23,27, 29, 30, 31, 32, 34, 39, 42, 44, 45, 47

On top you’ll have to :

• Ensure an overall system integration view at a/c level
• Ensure system certification documents to be released for a/c permit to fly and certification 
• Contribute to a/c SSA and FHA 
• Deliver specification for System Integration Bench
• Define and follow ground tests and flight tests as far as systems are concerned

The job has been made for you if you have : 🛠

• A master degree from Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering
• 10  years of experience in multi system integration 
• Skilled in coding (Python, Matlab / Simulink)
• Knowledge of Part 23 and/or Part 27 
• Knowledge in AGILE methods
• Knowledge in MBSE
