
The Cyber & Security Division of Leonardo Belgium, part of the Leonardo group, focuses on mission-critical services for EU Agencies, NATO and space organizations.

To strengthen our local capabilities, we are looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer with Cloud & Digital Workplace expertise who will act as the technical bridge between Business Development and Delivery, supporting complex bids and engaging directly with institutional clients.
We are looking for a Cloud & Digital Workplace Specialist with pre-sales experience, capable of engaging clients, understanding complex IT environments, and translating needs into structured technical solutions for bids and proposals.
The position is primarily technical, with a strong customer-facing component (approx. 60% technical / 40% client interaction), and is not suited for purely commercial profiles or highly specialized engineers with limited exposure to client interaction.
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will support the full pre-sales lifecycle, from understanding customer needs to designing high-level solution approaches and contributing to competitive bids and proposals.
You will:
Act as a technical point of reference during client engagements, supporting Business Development in real time to position Cloud and Digital Workplace solutions
Conduct technical presentations, demos, workshops, co-design sessions and in-depth analysis with technical and business stakeholders
Manage technical interactions with EU institutions, NATO, and Space stakeholders
Gather and analyse customer requirements and operational scenarios, translating them into structured and realistic technical solution approaches
Participate in responses to RFIs, RFQs, and public tenders, contributing to and shaping the technical sections of proposals
Design complex solutions with focus on Cloud platforms, Digital Workplace and large IT systems
Prepare technical documentation, solution outlines, BOMs and high-level architectures
Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Delivery, and Architecture teams to shape solutions and offers
Monitor market trends and contribute to the evolution of the Cloud & Digital Workplace portfolio
Required Experience
At least 3 years of experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Proposal Engineer, Technical Account Manager or similar technical-commercial role, with exposure to international customers in technological domains
Background in Cloud architectures, Digital Workplace, or large IT infrastructure solutions
Experience contributing to technical proposals, bids/tender responses, or similar
Education & Certifications
Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Engineering) or equivalent professional experience
Certifications in Cloud platforms, Digital Workplace, or architecture frameworks are considered a plus

Experience working with EU Institutions, NATO, or Space environments
Familiarity with standards such as TOGAF, ISO 27001, ECSS, STANAG, MIL
Knowledge of Systems Engineering or Enterprise Architecture principles (e.g. TOGAF)
Experience contributing to offers involving classified or sensitive environments
Exposure to DevOps, automation, or AI-related topics is a plus
Other Requirements
Availability for national and international travel (30–40%)
Eligible to obtain EU / ESA / NATO security clearance
