Basé sur notre campus de Marcy l’Etoile, vous travaillerez aux côtés d’environ 450 personnels et 900 étudiants dans un cadre privilégié aux portes de Lyon et à proximité immédiate du Parc de Lacroix Laval.
We invite applications for one position of Resident in Small Animal Internal Medicine to commence in November 2026.
This 3-year training program is approved by the ECVIM-CA. The program encompasses responsibility in internal medicine cases, including emergencies and after-hours duties. Internal and external rotations in related specialties (Oncology, Critical Care, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Neurology, Ophthalmology) are scheduled. The resident will also be involved in clinical research projects. She/ he/ they will participate to international congresses, to a yearly oral presentation at a residents forum and to weekly journal clubs. The successful candidate will also be involved in clinical teaching of students and interns. This program is an intensified training in Internal Medicine and related disciplines to prepare the residents as best as possible for a carrer at a specialist level. One main of the objectives is to qualify the applicant for the ECVIM-CA examination and certification.
The resident will join a team composed of 4 internists (including 3 specialists: 2 dipl. ECVIM-CA and 1 dipl. DESV), 2 residents, 1 specialized intern and 1 hospital practionner in Internal Medecine, 2 specialists (1 dipl. ACVIM, 1 dipl. ECVIM-CA) and 2 residents in Oncology and 1 cardiologist. Numerous diplomates of other specialities are available on-site (ECVDI, ECVECC, ECVS, ECVD, ECVAA, ECAR, ECVP, ECVPT, EVPC).
The Small Animal Teaching Hospital is a leading multi-disciplinary, specialist, veterinary referral and teaching hospital. It provides a complete range of clinical services to its patients through a full complement of on-site diagnostic and medical support equipment that includes an extensive array of endoscopic equipment (Olympus Digital Endoscopy System with flexible and rigid scopes including uretroscope), in-house 1.5T MRI and 64 slices CT, abdominal and cardiac ultrasound scanners, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, cystomanometry and urethral profilometry, electromyography, electroretinography, auditory evoked response testing and a well developped emergency and intensive care unit offering dialysis, mechical ventilation and blood transfusion.
VetAgro Sup is approved by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE). The veterinary campus is based at Marcy l’Etoile which is located in the surburban area of the beautiful city of Lyon with advantages of both access to a large city center with a great historical and gastronomic culture and close proximity to the contryside.
Applicants must have successfully completed a 12-months rotating internship or have gained equivalent experience during at least two years in small animal practice, show special interest in internal medicine and be highly motivated. Some additional training in internal medicine (speciality internship or equivalent) is not mandatory but would be appreciated. The candidate should have good knowledge of French and at least basic knowledge of English.
