Security Engineer Consultant (H/F/X)

Leonardo Belgium (LBe) is seeking a skilled freelance Security Engineer Consultant to participate in a challenging public interest program. You will join an international team focused on implementing a critical system while ensuring the security of its infrastructure and network. This position requires you to relocate and work on-site in Strasbourg. As a Security Engineer Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

• Network and Security Device Management: Deploy and maintain security tools, firewalls, and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) to ensure optimal performance and system security.

• Cryptographic Device Oversight: Administer and manage cryptographic devices to protect sensitive information.

• Documentation: Create and update technical network documentation to ensure compliance with client rules.

• Support and Troubleshooting: Provide timely assistance and expert support for assigned security components.

• Teamwork: Collaborate with team members and client contacts in an international environment.

• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar security role

• Proven work experience in security device administration, preferable in one or more of the technologies mentioned below

Technical / IT Skills : Proficiency in one or more of the following:

• Network security devices (Checkpoint, Fortinet)

• Cryptographic devices

• Ansible and PowerShell scripting – this expertise will be considered as a plus

• Security monitoring devices (Splunk)

• Security assessment devices (Tenable)

• Competence in Red Hat and Windows Server administration

• Knowledge of with information security frameworks and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001/22301, COBIT, NIST, OWASP TOP 10, CIS)

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively

• Ability to work under pressure in a challenging context

• Proficient in English (minimum B2 level); French is a plus

Other Requirements

• EU citizenship (mandatory)

• Security clearance or willingness to undergo the vetting process (mandatory)
