Job description

Purpose of the Role:

  • Act as the trusted technical partner for strategic customers from solution design through certification and scale-up.

  • Translate complex usage requirements into robust architectures; de-risk integrations via structured evaluation and field validation.

  • Provide authoritative guidance to internal R&D and customer stakeholders to accelerate time-to-value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end technical engagement for designated accounts (pre-sales to post-deployment).

  • Define, set up and maintain reproducible evaluation environments (lab and field).

  • Build and execute validation plans; collect KPIs; analyse results; drive corrective actions to closure.

  • Perform deep root-cause analysis across HW/SW stacks; coordinate with product, firmware and supplier teams.

  • Prepare technical collateral for demos, trainings, RFIs/RFPs and customer enablement.

  • Capture and channel customer feedback into clear, actionable product inputs and roadmap proposals.

  • Contribute to certification and interoperability activities with relevant industry bodies and test labs.

Profile

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years in Applications Engineering, Solutions/Pre-Sales Engineering, Integration or Tier-3/Expert Support in telecoms/connectivity or embedded networking.

  • Solid command of contemporary Wi-Fi (standards, performance, certification practices); familiarity with cellular architectures (4G/5G) and home/edge protocols is valued.

  • Hands-on with embedded Linux or RTOS-based platforms (gateways/routers); ability to read/adapt code and script (e.g., C/C++, Python, shell, or JavaScript).

  • Proficiency with test/measurement tools, traffic generation, logging and issue-tracking workflows.

  • Clear, structured communication for technical and non-technical audiences; proven ability to influence without direct authority.

Education & Languages:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience in demanding customer-facing technical roles).

  • Professional English required; German strongly preferred; additional European or Asian languages are a plus.

  • Customer-oriented with a pragmatic mindset and bias for delivery.

  • Comfortable operating across distributed teams and multi-party programmes.
