Job description

The Mission & Context

We are looking for a Senior Python/Django Developer to join our Engineering Team at Cenareo. You will drive the architectural evolution of our core SaaS APIs while elevating software quality across our backend ecosystem.
As a senior member of the team, you will not only build scalable backend components and reduce technical debt, but also co-design seamless user experiences alongside our product and UX teams.

Your mission at Cenareo

  • API & ARCHITECTURE EVOLUTION - 40%

    • Extend and scale the existing REST API ecosystem.

    • Evolve system architecture to sustain long-term performance and growth.

    • Architect robust backend solutions aligned with SaaS standards.

  • CODE QUALITY & TECHNICAL DEBT REDUCTION - 35%

    • Identify, prioritize, and refactor existing technical debt.

    • Optimize application execution speed and overall system performance.

    • Establish, document, and maintain engineering best practices across the engineering team.

  • UX & PARTNER FEATURE CO-CONSTRUCTION - 25%

    • Re-architect end-to-end product features in close partnership with the UX Designer.

    • Collaborate with external partners to integrate and refine product capabilities.

    • Translate functional design concepts into maintainable technical requirements.

Profile

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills

Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional backend development experience with Python and Django. Prior experience within SaaS / Tech environments is preferred.
Technical Mastery: Advanced mastery of Python and Django, deep understanding of RESTful API architecture, software architecture design, and performance optimization.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving mindset, commitment to code quality, high collaborative ability for cross-functional work with UX designers and external partners, and clear technical communication skills.
Organization & Management: Direct report to Thierno (Lead Software Engineer), working closely with the broader Engineering Team from our office in Labège.

Nice-to-Haves:
• Hands-on experience with the React frontend framework.
• Familiarity with the Azure cloud environment.
