Position Overview:
As the Sustainable Building Project Manager, the Sustainable Building PM will play a crucial role in managing sustainable building projects from design to construction. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that projects align with sustainable construction practices, green building standards, and optimize environmental performance throughout their life cycle.
Additionally, the Sustainable Building PM will be responsible for conducting comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) to quantify the environmental impact of our projects and identify opportunities for improvement.
Key responsibilities:
Overseeing a portfolio of Projects for low carbon buildings, energy retrofits and specific research studies missions related to either existing assets or new construction projects.
Project Management:
· Lead and manage sustainable building projects, ensuring they meet established environmental standards and goals.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders, to integrate sustainability into all project phases.
· Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and timelines, while monitoring progress and addressing potential issues.
· Follow the invoicing process internally to ensure invoices are sent at the defined project milestones
· The PM needs to have experience with the process of integrative sustainability consulting across the entire project life cycle from inception through design and construction, completion and building in use.
Sustainability Integration:
· Stay abreast of the latest developments in sustainable construction practices, green building materials, and technologies.
· Integrate sustainable design principles and strategies into project development, construction, and operation phases, according to the building type and use.
· Collaborate with design and construction teams to achieve industry-recognized certifications such as LEED, BREEAM, GBI, GreenMark and GreenRE or equivalent.
Technical knowledge:
· Conduct comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for building projects to evaluate environmental impacts—such as carbon footprint, resource depletion, and energy consumption—and interpret the results to provide recommendations for optimizing environmental performance throughout the project’s life cycle.
· Collaborate with internal teams to implement identified improvements and measure progress over time.
Understanding of Passive design strategies, implementation (GBI, GreenRE, GreenMark) and Bioclimatic simulation software.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainable Design, Environmental Engineering, or Architecture.
· At least 5 years of experience in sustainable building project management for a wide range of building types among commercial, industrial, retail, hospitality and residential..
· Experience in delivering technical studies and reporting in different areas among, low-carbon energy solutions, bioclimatic design, energy efficiency, Life cycle assessments within an engineering or technical consultancy.
· Certification as GBI facilitator and/or GreenRE AP is a must.
· Strong analytical skills, with high attention to detail.
· Familiar with research approach, can handle research project.
· Willing to learn more, willing to do non-standardized scope of work.
· Proactive personality, open-minded person, transparent, and good team player.
· Ability to work in an international environment.
· Possess excellent commercial awareness from client-facing roles.
· Software: Energy modelling tools, Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PPT, and One-Click LCA.
