We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Insurance Underwriting Manager to join the team of our customer. The Insurance Underwriter will evaluate insurance applications, assess risk factors, and determine coverage eligibility based on company guidelines and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to analyze complex information effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Risk Assessment: Evaluate insurance applications, analyzing applicant information, financial data, and other relevant factors to assess risk and determine appropriate terms and conditions for coverage.

• Underwriting Guidelines: Apply underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures to determine eligibility for insurance coverage, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Decision Making: Make underwriting decisions based on risk assessment, considering factors such as applicant's credit history, claims history, and other risk indicators.

• Policy Issuance: Issue insurance policies and endorsements accurately and promptly, ensuring completeness of documentation and compliance with underwriting decisions.

• Communication: Communicate underwriting decisions to agents, brokers, and insureds, providing explanations and guidance as needed.

• Risk Management: Identify and assess emerging risks and trends in the insurance market, providing insights and recommendations to improve risk management strategies.

• Data Analysis: Analyze underwriting data and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in underwriting processes and decision-making.

• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to agents, brokers, and insureds, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the underwriting process.

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and underwriting guidelines, staying informed about changes in regulations and industry best practices.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed underwriting documentation, including application files, underwriting reports, and correspondence, ensuring completeness and integrity of records.

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, insurance, or related field.

• Many years of experience in insurance underwriting.

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting practices, and regulatory requirements.

• Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office suite.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Professional certifications such as Associate in General Insurance (AINS) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) are a plus.
